Vision And Objective Sacred heart Leprosy Centre was founded with the financial support of the Bishop of Kumbakonam in the year 1916 by Rev.Fr.Jean Michotte,a Belgian Priest and Rev.Sr.Caroline De Tabernacle of SMMI Congregation.It was registered as a society in the year 1976 under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act XXVII of 1975.All these years the society toiled and labured to eradicate leprosy from the Indian society.Now it has winded its services to all other categpries of people as well. Vision "Qualitative medical Care for all".Seeing the health in the present day society,the sacred Heart Leprosy Centre resolved to offer qualitative medical care to all the people without discriminination of cast,creed,colour or social status. objectives 1.To Promote the living condition of the leprost affected persons admitted in our hospital. 2.To eradicate leprosy in the society. 3.to offer wholistic medical care to all the patients. 4.To take care of the abnadoned leprosy patients in their old age. 5.To conciententize the families of the leprosy affected patients to rehabilitate them in their families. 6.To help the families of persons affected by leprosy in fitting them into the society by forming self-help groups and to avail benefits from the government. 7.To help the children of the leprosy affected persons in theirbasic education and in vocational training. 8.To offer comprehensive medical care to all and in particular to the poor and middle class. 9.To offer all possible medical facilities under one roof sa that people might benift out o them at their convenience. 10.To impart health education to the through medical camps,out reach programs,awerness seminars in the schools and colleges.
