In remembrance of the year for Priests our beloved bishop wants all our priests to take part in the Psycho-Spiritual Empowerment Programme to be conducted by Rev.Fr.Wilson OFM. Cap. at Poondi Madha Basilica on 12-13, April, 2010 (Monday and Tuesday).

It is true that all the priests of all the vicariates of our diocese were consulted on the vicariate level to propose their wish regarding the venue of the seminar and family tour. The proposals were discussed by the College of Consultors of the diocese. For a better and maximum participation and benefit of the Empowerment Programme, it was unanimously decided that we have the seminar at the Shrine Basilica of Our Lady of Poondi on April 12-13, 2010 on the same dates, as decided before. A team of priests with the leadership

of the diocesan Chancellor Rev.Fr.A.Arul Prakasam will assist the Rector and other priests of the Basilica. Hence the venue of the one day picnic will be to Vadipatti and Athisayam  theme park. Rev.Fr.A.Francis, the Director of the Pastoral Centre and Rev.Fr.G.Christuraj, the Secretary of the Clergy Commission will be the organizers of the picnic or tour programme. The list of the participants is with Rev.Fr.G.Christuraj. If there is any addition or removal of the participants you may kindly speak to the organizers of the tour programme. It is the wish of our bishop that all of us should benefit by the Empowerment Programme and manifest our family spirit also in the tour programme.

The gift in honour of the Year for Priests by our beloved bishop is credited to each one’s account with the Procurator. Let us appreciate our bishop for the generous gift for every one of us and pray for him and to our diocese of Kumbakonam.

1. The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India Conference was held between 24th February and 4th March, 2010 at Guwahati, Assam.

2. The Bishop blessed the Prayer Tower dedicated to Our Lady of Highways on 17th March, 2010 at Valigondapuram, Fatimapuram.

3. The Bishop blessed the renovated chapel at S.H.Hospital,Kumbakonam on 21st March, 2010.

4. The meeting with the Regional and Diocesan Secretaries of the Commission for Evangelizationwas held on 24th March 2010 at Kumbakonam.

03. May I request you to send the BILLS AND VOUCHERS FOR THE PROJECTS that you have received from the Diocese.

04. May I request you also to submit the FINANCIAL STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTS on or before 10th of April 2010.

05. I will be away from my desk from 20th April to 22nd April 2010 to attend the Holy Childhood meeting to be held at Bangalore. Thank you very much for your love, concern and cooperation.

VOCATION CAMP
(26 to 28 April, 2010)

Dear Rev. Fr. Parish Priests,

Please take note of the new dates for the Vocation Camp for our diocese from April 26 to 28, 2010. The candidates who have completed 10th/12th may send the applications duly signed by the respective parish priests before April 18, 2009. After the receipt of the application, Rector/Prefect from the minor seminary will visit the concerned families before attending the camp.

Kindly motivate prospective candidates who are imbued with religious convictions, excellent character, good education, leadership skills, etc. to religious life and priesthood.
