"Amalashram" was founded in 1943 at srirangam,Trichy,just 2kms from the trichy Municipal Corporation,on the bank of the river Cauvery-A beautiful and natural place for prayer and contemplation.It was erecated as a parish in 1992."Amalashram" is the first house of the Amala Annai Province.It was the house of theology from 1944 to 1949 for all the Indian Capuchins.It was the Assai Home for the Initial formation of the cab\ndidates till 1987.On May 23rd 1988,we started the Theologate here.

 Srirangam is in island between the two big rivers called Cauvery and Kollidam.Srirangam is also a Holy place for Hindus.it is an important location in the religious map of india.A lot of hindus visit this place to pay homage to their deity called "Ranganathan".

 The "Ashram"looks after the spiritual needs of the people,living around.The devotion to St.Antony on Yuesday attracts a lot of people."Amalashram"with its religious atmosphere has also drawn the attention of other religious  congregations.On every Tuesdays one could see people flocking to the church to receive Gods blessings and strength in and through the intercession of St.Antony.To cater the needs of the devotees,we offer four Masses throughout the day.There is a multipurpose hall,which is used for marriages.The Golden Jibilee of this "Ashram" was celebrated on october  1,1993.It looks after five sub-stations,comprising about 1500 catholics.
