Brief History
It was instituted on 5-11-1940.Iy was bifurcated from of Purthakudi.It is a single village parish compressing sub centres.It has got 705 families.there are 3 big streets by name S.Irungalur,It has one primary school where 195 students are studying and 5 staff are employed.
The people in general are daily coolies.Some of them are poor,they arevery simple ,very Religious,Church coming,having of few families.The parish of of St.thomas which was enovated in 2006.
