Brief History
Konalai parish was bifurcated from paramakudi and erected parish in the year 1905.It has 6 substations Celapalayam,Siruganur,M.R.Palayam,C.R.Palayam and Aykudi.Total Number of catholics in the parish are 2930.Konalai parish has 622 families.Parish as 2 primary school,one is in kalpalayam,another one is in kanalai and one high school is in valaipuram kovil,lonalai.In the year 1968 our day appeared to some people in a paricular,from them that place called malaimamakoil.Now it is a developing church,many people are comming and miracls are asking place.In kalapalayam.the kanikaimathakovil is older then St.Antony Church of Konalai in the parish St.Annes of trichy sisters are working and they are running one dispensary.people are very pious and dedicared catholics in the year 2005,parish celebrated in ceminary in a grand manner.
