Brief History
1939-The Manakkal parish was started as St.Joesph\\'s parish, Laigidi ahd its genesis way level in 1939, when Fr. T. Arockiasamy was appointed the first parish priest of the newly constrcted church at manakkal village. A prestrytery was also built.(21 seems that this was the first parish started for SC community christians).
1951- RC Elimentary school was started by Fr. Joseph Irudayam.
1958-Gnotto in the house campus was put up.
1986-St.Joseph\\'s parish lalgudi was bifureated. St. Joseph\\'s parish was shifted to its present place near the railway station and the Diocese took our that parish. The old parish church at manakkal was called the parish of Many HelpChristian and it was handed over to the Salesus.
